Stéphanie Morissette holds a bachelor's degree in art history and creation from Concordia University, and a certificate in film scriptwriting from UQAM. Over the past twenty years, she has presented her work in exhibitions and events internationally. In 2017, she won the CALQ Award - Work of the Year in Estrie for her exhibition L'inquiète forêt and in 2021 her virtual reality work Méandres was a finalist for the NUMIX Awards - digital art. She is currently an MFA candidate at the Stamps School of Art & Design at the University of Michigan.
Her research approaches conflict relationships between humans, nature elements and technologies looking into the past, present and future. From politics, psychology, biotechnology, theories on postcolonialism and on decolonisation of nature, she proposes an ecofeminist approach in a narrative form tinted with dark humor. She multiplies the points of view, avoiding a dominant position in order to invite dialogues. Using a diversity of mediums, she is constantly searching to create movement into her work.
