Centre SAGAMIE is a production centre dedicated to contemporary art whose research and creation activities are linked to contemporary image issues. The centre specializes in digital printing and micro-publishing residencies. It also has a mandate to disseminate the work of artists through exhibitions and publications.
Centre SAGAMIE's publications seek to document and disseminate contemporary art among a diverse audience. Our editorial program offers artists and authors an open and indepedent space for artistic and literary creation that uses the book both as a vehicle for art and as an art object.
A founding member of the CÉAC collective (Collectif d'Éditeur en Art Contemporain), our books are distributed in Quebec by Dimédia at more than 3000 points of sale.
Since it was founded in 1981, Centre SAGAMIE has played an active role in the development of contemporary art in Canada, and in particular in the growth of digital creative tools for artists.
Originally a center specializing in the printing arts and renowned for its boundary-pushing explorations in serigraphy, engraving and lithography, SAGAMIE is now recognized by artists as a benchmark in large-format digital printing and image research.
Centre SAGAMIE acknowledge the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec, the Canada Council for the Arts, the City of Alma and its members for their financial support.
Centre SAGAMIE's team is made up of attentive professionals and who are happy to support you in the development of your projects.
Centre SAGAMIE's Board of Directors is made up of seven member artists active in the visual arts, digital arts, literature and film production fields, and who support the organization to articulate its vision and carry out its activities and programming.
