In 2024, Annie-Kim led a drawing-research project with people who, like her, live in a micro-apartment. Entitled “1 ½: techniques, défis et tranches de vie”, it was achieved with the support of the artist-run center Verticale in Laval. Annie-Kim visited participants in their homes, producing observational drawings, making light handiwork and collecting apartment stories.

At Centre SAGAMIE, she will produce a micro-publication bringing together drawings, stories and reflections resulting from the project. Her aim is to share both the fruits of her labor and the process behind it.

In her practice, Annie-Kim Rainville uses humor and craft to take a critical look at the territories of everyday life. Attempting to share her enchantment with ordinary images, her work is embodied in drawing, print, embroidery and papermaking. Annie-Kim completed her bachelor's degree in visual and media arts at UQAM in 2022. Her work has been presented at Gham et Dafe, CDEx, Galerie de l'UQAM and Centre Clark. In 2024, she participated in the Verticale artist-run center mentorship program and received support from the Canada Council for the Arts.

Annie-Kim Rainville has been selected by Skol as part of the PRESENCES project. Following her residency at Centre SAGAMIE, she will take part in a group exhibition at Skol in spring 2025.
