Anne Pénélope Dufresne Gervais is interested in the relational character of the act of collecting. Her performative creative practice is organized through interactions, exchanges and encounters. It is by adopting a posture of relational listening that a method specific to her interdisciplinary research is shaped. Through drawing, sculpture, installation and performance, she explores the spaces between affects, objects, the body and nature. Through a sensitive approach to the collection, she evokes the themes of memory and intimacy.
Born in Tiohtià:ke (Montreal), Anne Pénélope has been living in the Nitassinan territory, in Saguenay, for the past 5 years. She holds a BFA from the Université du Québec à Montréal and is currently completing a MFA degree at the Université du Québec à Chicoutimi. She has participated in several group exhibitions and self-publishing projects. For the past year, her practice of self-representation has led her to reflect on issues of mental health and neurodiversity.
