This 257-page monograph presents an important body of work by the artist Jean-Pierre Séguin, more specifically the series of portraits produced between 1976 and 2006. This artistic genre becomes in fact a pretext for a plastic research that uses print, painting, photography and digital work. The artist invites the viewer to a game of perception between figurative representation and abstraction. The book brings together several essays by authors who examine different aspects of the artist's practice and propose various interpretations of his work on portraits.
