les_poésies_sonores

Fréquences : urbaines reveal themselves from the sounds of the inaudible, which are a new hybrid culture of video, photography and electroacoustics. The urban night landscape becomes a space of narration, a poetic vision where the silence of the night transports us towards a chaotic and abstract sound spatiality.

Karine Côté

Karine Côté holds a Master of Arts degree from the Université du Québec à Chicoutimi and lives and works in Alma. Involved in the regional cultural milieu, she exhibits her creative project Fréquences Urbaines in several artist centers and museums in Quebec. In 2008, the artist was awarded the 1st prize of the Arts de Strasbourg, (France). That same year, she completed a residency as part of the Alsace, France / Lac-Saint-Jean, Québec cross-residency program of the Agence culturelle d'Alsace, the FRAC Alsace and the Centre en art actuel Langage Plus. Recently, the Collection Loto-Québec acquired works by the artist that were presented at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts.
