My artistic projects aim to offer an alternative experience to the obscure and “non-visible” elements of the social environment through their spatial presentation and an exploration of their tangibility. Installation, drawing and performative actions are my mediums of choice to make this experience concrete. I approach my work in multiple dimensions by carrying out experiments on the texture and structure of materials mainly comprised of fabrics that I put in relation with other elements such as ceramics, wood and light. This process allows me to introduce new relations between the cast shadow and its environment, beyond the binaries often assigned to them. Intermingling historical sources (taken from literature, film and theatre), architectural references and ephemeral set-ups, my work examines forms of monstrosities in which the use of the shadow becomes a strategy to question what we designate as “normal” and to react to it through the creation of zones of ambiguity.
