Alex P.'s artistic work is mainly autoethnographic. He draws on his ever-evolving personal history to build bridges between his own reality and that of others, by addressing various themes such as identity, territory and cultural belonging. Drawing on anthropological elements of the LGBTQIA2S+ community to which he belongs, archives of all sorts and miscellaneous events, he seeks to forge temporal links between the past and the present in order to critically reflect on the contemporary human condition.
An emerging visual artist, poet, columnist and cultural worker, Alex P. lives and works in Trois-Rivières. He has been steeped in the artistic milieu since childhood, and is actively involved in various organizations in the region, including the Biennale nationale de sculpture contemporaine. His work has been presented in Québec, the United States and Europe, notably at the Queer Spectra Festival in Salt Lake City (2024), the Kypseli Print Studio in Athens, Greece (2023) and the Bitola Art Biennale, Macedonia (2023). A dedicated member of Atelier Presse Papier since 2021, presented his first solo show, Habiter les repères, at their premises in October 2024.
Alex P.'s residency is part of the project LABREC (Laboratoire pour la relève en estampe contemporaine) initiated by Atelier Presse Papier in Trois-Rivières.
